Three Profiles, One System

Half-Round panel. 333 × 1800 mm (13.1 in × 6 ft), covering 0.6 m² (6.45 sq ft). Rounded rows about 45 mm (1.8 in) wide give a wall the depth of real bamboo.

Slat panel. 333 × 1800 mm, covering 0.6 m². A clean, linear rhythm for ceilings, screens and contemporary interiors: bamboo slat wall panels that arrive with every slat already spaced and aligned, so bamboo slats for walls go up in a fraction of the time.

Half-Round Interlock. 200 × 1200 mm (7.9 in × 4 ft), covering 0.2 m² and weighing only 0.9 kg (2 lb). It joins edge to edge for a seamless wall or ceiling.

The trim that finishes the job. Our split half-round poles in 40, 50 and 60 mm are the synthetic bamboo molding that completes every installation. Run half round bamboo molding along the top of a wainscot, frame a ceiling, or cover the seam between two panels; specifiers in the UK know it as half round bamboo moulding. It is the bamboo molding trim that turns a run of panels into finished joinery, and the faux half round bamboo trim designers also use on its own around doors, windows and counters, the same way they would use bamboo slats for wall trim.

Prefer the look of loose bamboo slats & strips? Our panels give the exact look of individual bamboo strips, molded in one piece so nothing shifts, gaps or works loose.

Textured bamboo, not a printed board. Every panel is molded from real bamboo, so the nodes and grain under your hand are true textured bamboo, never a photograph printed on a flat sheet.

Colors. Sundried and Sesame are in stock. For commercial projects we mold any tone you specify: Young, Olive, Green, Aged Green, Light Brown, Dark Brown and Aged Brown, and the finishes designers ask for by name. Choose raw green bamboo slats for a fresh-cut look, black bamboo slats and half round black bamboo for a modern edge, burnt bamboo slats and smoked carbonized bamboo slats with deepened nodes, mahogany bamboo slats for a rich wood tone, or the mottled pattern of tortoise bamboo panelling.

Looking for 4 × 8 ft sheets? Most bamboo wall panels 4x8 are woven sheets. Our woven mat comes in 1.22 × 2.44 m (4 × 8 ft) sheets for flat walls and ceilings, while these molded panels bring the rounded depth of real bamboo.

How to Install Bamboo Paneling

Faux bamboo panels installation follows the same five steps on walls and ceilings, indoors and out.

  1. Prepare the backing. Fix the panels to a solid, flat backing such as plywood or cement board, or to battens (furring strips) at 45 cm (about 18 in) centers.
  2. Start at one edge. Screw the first panel through its fixing edge with stainless screws. The tongue-and-groove joint of the next panel covers those screws, and so on across the wall.
  3. Leave room to move. ASA expands about 0.095 mm per meter for every °C, so a 1.8 m panel grows around 7 mm between a cool night and full sun. Leave an expansion gap of about 4 mm at the top and bottom of each run, and hide it with half-round trim.
  4. Cut and finish. Cut panels to length with a fine-tooth saw, and cover cut ends and seams with trim.
  5. Check the fixings. Make sure every screw is tight and every joint is fully seated.

How to install bamboo paneling on your ceiling. Use the same backing, a solid board or battens at 45 cm, and run the panels across the battens, starting from one wall. The Interlock panel, at only 0.9 kg, is the easiest to handle overhead. How to install bamboo slats on the ceiling? The slat panel fits exactly the same way, and its linear profile makes a ceiling look longer, so these steps double as our bamboo slat ceiling installation instructions.

Where Bamboo Panels Work Best

Bamboo wainscot. Run a bamboo wainscoting panel along the lower third of a wall and cap it with half-round trim: the most elegant way to bring bamboo into a lobby, corridor or restaurant. In a custom tortoise tone, tortoise color bamboo wainscoting gives a room a warm, aged character, and our bamboo wainscoting panels keep their color long after natural cane has faded.

The tiki bar wainscot. Half-round panels on the bar front and lower walls, slats on the back tiki bar wall and poles as trim: tiki bar bamboo paneling with the classic island look and no cane to replace.

Outdoor walls. Pool bars, verandas, garden walls and storefronts. These panels are built for the weather that ruins natural cane.

Ceilings, feature walls and bar fronts, indoors and out, from resort lobbies to theme parks. As bamboo wall panels for interior wall decor, they bring tropical wall decor that lasts, with a depth that printed bamboo wall decor cannot match.

Partitions and shade structures. Screwed to both faces of a slim stud frame, slat panels make a bamboo partition that divides a lobby or restaurant without heavy works. Outdoors, they clad the underside of pergolas and garden shade structures, keeping their color in the sun.

Description of Bamboo Paneling

A convincing bamboo finish needs more than color. ONETHATCH synthetic bamboo wall panels combine realistic textures with natural earth tones, giving walls, ceilings and bar fronts the character to anchor a tropical theme or complement a contemporary interior.

The durable, UV-resistant panels offer a PVC-free alternative to natural bamboo. Choose the finish that works with the rest of the space; an ASTM E84 Class A fire-retardant (FR) version is available to order for projects that require it.

Uses of Bamboo Paneling

From a backyard bar to a resort feature wall, bamboo paneling can set the tone for the whole space. Use bamboo wall panels for broad areas of cladding, or add the texture of bamboo slats to ceilings, bar fronts, counters and cabinet faces.

Slat, half-round and interlocking designs create different effects, helping you find the right balance for a contemporary interior, a Japanese-inspired garden or a tropical outdoor setting. Where privacy is part of the design, explore our bamboo fencing panels. Check the dimensions and available colors for the selected style before ordering.

Molded Panels vs Rolls, Mesh and Tatami

Wall paneling roll. Split cane or reed wired into a roll leaves gaps, sags between fixings and depends on wire that rusts, while the natural cane fades within a few seasons.

Flexible bamboo wall panelling. Thin strips glued to fabric or mesh suit indoor walls only; in humidity the glue lets go and the strips lift or split.

Tatami wall paneling. Woven rush or bamboo mats, sold as tatami bamboo wall paneling, are lovely in a dry room, but they absorb moisture, invite mold and cannot go outside.

Natural bamboo wall panel or split bamboo fence. Real cane looks beautiful on day one, but a natural bamboo wall panel or split bamboo fencing fades, splits and draws insects outdoors within a few seasons, and needs sealing to slow it down.

ONETHATCH panels. Realistic faux bamboo panels: rigid, molded from real bamboo, screw-fixed with hidden joints and engineered for the outdoors. Unlike flat printed faux wall panels, this synthetic bamboo wall cladding carries real depth and texture.

ASA, PVC or Filled PE: Why We Mold Our Panels in ASA

Not every synthetic bamboo panel is made the same way. Most imitation bamboo panels on the market are molded in PVC or polyethylene. Here is why we chose ASA, and why the choice matters for your project and for the planet.

The Trouble with PVC Bamboo Panels

PVC is made from vinyl chloride, which the World Health Organization's cancer agency (IARC) classifies as carcinogenic to humans, and more than half of PVC's weight is chlorine. When PVC burns, it releases corrosive hydrogen chloride gas and can form dioxins, among the most persistent pollutants known.

Many grades also rely on phthalate plasticizers or heavy-metal stabilizers such as lead, and that mix of chlorine and additives makes PVC difficult to recycle. ASA contains no chlorine and needs no plasticizers, so none of these problems come with it.

Why Filled PE Panels Crack

Polyethylene is an excellent material for flexible products: our own synthetic thatch and woven matting are made from virgin HDPE with no filler, so they flex in the wind and keep their toughness. But a wall panel has to hold a crisp, flat line, and PE is soft by nature, so some makers of plastic bamboo panels load the resin with 40% or more mineral filler.

The filler buys stiffness at the cost of toughness: studies of calcium carbonate–filled polyethylene show impact strength and elongation falling as the filler content rises. Polyethylene also expands and contracts up to about twice as much as ASA with every change in temperature, so every hot day and cool night pulls at the screws, and a brittle, heavily filled panel tends to crack right at the fixing points.

Why ASA

ASA (acrylonitrile styrene acrylate) is an engineering resin that is rigid on its own, with no filler to weaken it. It holds its screws and keeps its shape in heat and cold, with UV stabilizers selected together with BASF stabilizer engineers.

It contains no chlorine, no plasticizers and no lead stabilizers, and it is fully recyclable: the qualities that make eco-friendly bamboo wall panels worth the name.

Warranty and Care

Every ONETHATCH bamboo panel is covered by our 20-year limited warranty, covering rot, delamination, UV degradation and, in the first 10 years, base-color fading, subject to the warranty terms.

Care is simple: rinse with fresh water, wash with mild soap and a soft brush, then rinse again. There is nothing to seal, stain or oil.

Bamboo Wall Panels FAQ

Can faux bamboo wall panels be used outdoors?

Yes, ONETHATCH faux bamboo wall panels are made for both indoor and outdoor use. They are molded from real bamboo in ASA, a tough outdoor-grade plastic, and passed 5,000 hours of ASTM G155 accelerated weathering (Micom Laboratories, Canada) with no significant color change. That makes them dependable outdoor bamboo panels for pool bars, pergolas and garden walls, backed by a 20-year limited warranty. Our synthetic bamboo fencing at Banyan Tree Maldives had been in use for six years with no visible color change as of 2026.

Are faux bamboo panels fire rated?

Standard panels are not fire-rated, but an ASTM E84 Class A fire-retardant version is available to order. Specify the fire-retardant (FR) version for hotel corridors, restaurants and other interiors where the fire code calls for a rated wall or ceiling finish, and ask us for the test documentation with your quote.

Can I use these panels for bamboo wainscoting or a bamboo bar front?

Yes, bamboo wainscoting and bar fronts are classic uses for our panels. Run the half-round wall panel or the bamboo slat wall panel along the lower part of a wall, or wrap a bar, reception desk or counter front for an instant tropical finish. The panels are decorative, not structural, so they dress the surface rather than support it.

How do synthetic bamboo panels compare with natural bamboo paneling?

Synthetic bamboo panels give you the look of natural bamboo paneling with much greater resistance to sun, rot and insects. Natural options such as bamboo tambour paneling (thin strips of real bamboo on a mesh backing) are lovely indoors, but real cane can split, fade or attract insects in heat and humidity. ONETHATCH bamboo wall paneling is molded from real bamboo in ASA and colored with mineral (inorganic) pigments, so the texture stays authentic and the color holds. Request a free sample to compare them side by side.

How much do faux bamboo panels cost?

Faux bamboo panel pricing depends on the design, color and quantity, so we quote every project individually. Send us your drawings or wall measurements and your preferred finish, and we will prepare a quote and send free samples so you can check the color and texture first.

Who makes ONETHATCH bamboo panels?

We are the faux bamboo panels manufacturer: every panel is molded in our own ISO 9001-certified factory, we have been making synthetic bamboo since 1996, and we ship to more than 80 countries.

What is the faux bamboo panels price per square meter?

We quote each project by profile, color and quantity rather than one faux bamboo panels price per square meter. Send your wall or ceiling sizes and we will prepare a quote, with free samples.

Can I use the faux bamboo pole panels outside?

Yes. They passed 5,000 hours of ASTM G155 accelerated weathering with no significant color change and carry a 20-year limited warranty. Outdoors, leave the small expansion gaps at the top and bottom of each run described in the Installation tab.

How should I clean the faux bamboo pole panel?

Rinse with fresh water, wash with mild soap and a soft brush, then rinse again. There is nothing to seal, stain or oil.

How to install synthetic bamboo ceiling panels?

Fix them to a solid backing or to battens at 45 cm centers with stainless screws, letting each tongue-and-groove joint hide the screws of the panel before, and leave about 4 mm at each end of a run. The full steps are in the Installation tab.

How to make bamboo walls?

Board or batten the wall, screw the panels on in courses from one edge, and cap the top and ends with half-round trim for a finished bamboo wall.

Do you supply bamboo panelling to the UK?

Yes. Our bamboo wall panelling ships to the UK and to more than 80 countries, with free samples so you can check the color and texture first.

Can we buy wholesale, direct from the manufacturer?

Yes. We supply synthetic bamboo wall panels and cladding wholesale, straight from our own factory, to contractors, resorts and resellers in more than 80 countries, with free samples.

We strive for excellence, quality and aesthetics are never compromised.
