The Misu-Gaki bamboo fence (御簾垣) recreates a classic Japanese garden screen, also called sudare gaki: slender bamboo laid horizontally between upright posts to divide a garden, hide an unwanted view or mark its edge. ONETHATCH keeps that quiet elegance in synthetic bamboo. The bamboo fencing panels are constructed by placing horizontal 1-inch thin bamboo poles and inserting them into the grooves of the fence’s posts. Vertical support bamboo poles are attached to the bottom batten, giving the bamboo fence the appearance of a bamboo privacy screen. In natural bamboo, such thin poles decay and discolor quickly in the rain, yet the simple elegance keeps the style popular.
