Caring for Your Artificial Bamboo Fencing
Unlike natural bamboo fence, ONETHATCH® synthetic bamboo is colored with mineral (inorganic) pigments, which resist sun-fading far better than ordinary dyes. Splitting issues and scratch marks won’t bother you any more since our plastic bamboo fences are made from high-quality synthetic materials, and the color is all the way through our bamboo.
Our bamboo fence passed 5,000 h of ASTM G155 accelerated weathering (Micom Laboratories, Canada) with no significant color change, and an ASTM E84 Class A fire-retardant version is available to order. Please contact us if you would like to learn more about our synthetic bamboo fencing.
Kenninji-Gaki Fence FAQ
A Kenninji fence (Kenninji-Gaki) is a traditional Japanese bamboo privacy fence of close-set vertical bamboo held by horizontal rails, named after Kennin-ji temple in Kyoto. ONETHATCH recreates it in ASA synthetic bamboo on a powder-coated aluminum frame, so the clean lines stay crisp in sun, salt air and rain. It belongs to our Signature Privacy collection, alongside Katsura-Gaki and Tokusa-Gaki, among the ten styles of synthetic bamboo fencing we make.
The standard Kenninji-Gaki panel is approximately 1900 mm high and 1800 mm wide. It is the easiest route, but send us your layout and we can customize panels to fit it, or supply panels for a frame your contractor builds on site.
It is made to resist fading: ONETHATCH synthetic bamboo passed 5,000 hours of ASTM G155 accelerated weathering (Micom Laboratories, Canada) with no significant color change. Its colors come from mineral (inorganic) pigments, which resist sun-fading far better than ordinary dyes. At Banyan Tree Maldives, our Kenninji-Gaki synthetic bamboo fence had been in use for six years with no visible color change as of 2026.
A Kenninji-Gaki fence is virtually maintenance-free. Routine maintenance is generally not required: inspect the fence once a year and clear dirt and debris as needed. For peace of mind, every ONETHATCH bamboo fence comes with a 20-year warranty (limited) covering the panels and the aluminum frame.
